We are off the the tractor pull at The Big Red Barn near Seguin. Other than wiring, a valve spring and a push rod this tractor is all original. 2600 hr's on the proof meter and my son probably put 500 or so of those hours on it. The bullet hole? It sat in the weeds in front of a deer camp for 8 or 10 years. I'm calling it Ole Bullet but Ole Bullet Hole might be more appropriate. Whatchathink? I sure hope they give Participation Trophies.

why anyone would want a participation trophy is beyond me. Normally I wouldn't say anything about it but my daughters just had this conversation with me. They said in school nobody tried because they didn't get any better trophy for being first as last. My daughter got a citizen award one year and she hated it. The one teacher said nobody deserves an award for doing what all people should do, be a good citizen and help others. You should never get an award for just showing up and participating. It is your duty to show up and do the best you can. Not everybody is a winner and it doesn't matter. We all are different and we need to be taught that we are and nobody is more special than someone else. God made us all and we should be proud to do the best we can with no reward here on earth. enjoy seeing someone beat you is more important than winning. We need to raise are children to be content with whatever we have, not look at what the others have and want it.

oh by the way nice tractor. I'd use it every day if I had one like that, or close to like that. Always said one day I will have a cab less tractor so I can get in the barn to clean it out.

Nice looking tractor. The tires are a bit narrower than my 50 so that will help a bit at a pull. My spins out real easy with the wider tires. Have fun and dont worry about the participation ribbon.

Was trying to find a fuel tank for an old JD. The used ones could be evaluated by the number of bullet holes. Hope you have fun with it.

Tongue in cheek, I assume. I ride an occasional offroad motorcycle race (amateur, local) and tell the under age 70 guys I am like famous dragsters in the sixties. I get appearance money.. just show up and ride until I am not having fun.

You'll say all of that here, but the real question is, what do you do at your kids/grandkids T-ball games where they don't even keep score?? LOL. I'm betting you are one of them that just sits in the bleachers and never says a word about how they are conducting the game. Heaven forbid they'd keep score.

Kids or no kids, why explode on here, on this, when it goes on in public virtually all over and never a word is said??

I get what your saying though. The only thing about this that ticks me off, is someone will explode on here in an anonymous format, but will bite thier tongue and not say one word about it in public.

I was at a car show last fall. They had over bought on trophies. Now grant it, they were expecting 100 entries, and only had about 35. The end result was, by the time they handed out 2nd and 3rd place plaques in all of the categories, all walked away with some kind of a plaque. Even had some plaques left over.
I didn't have a horse in that race, but remember thinking that a plaque from that show would be meaningless to the recipient. Sh?t happens sometimes.

As far as I'm concerned, truck and tractor pull trophies should be re-gifted by the recipient back to thier sponsors anyways. It's kind of an appreciation award for thier sponsorship. Although, there probably isn't much sponsorship that goes on with the antique pullers.
