Oliver 550----Ford 3000

How do these two tractors compare to each other both are gassers. Oliver is a 1963 the Ford is a 1974. I have both of them. Not sure which one is the better tractor. What are your thoughts?????
 
Both are handy... If they are both payed for then it would be a toss up..
Out here everyone wants the little massey's harris or ferguson..
Im partial to the fords..
 
I just looked at pictures of your 550 again Leonard. It doesn't have power steering or a swinging drawbar does it? How about the Ford? Those are both pretty handy things to have.
 
If you have both, you're in a unique position to declare which one is best.

From a collectible standpoint, Oliver hands down. They made about a bajillion of the Fords, or at least it seems like it.

I heard that the Oliver 550 has fully independent PTO? Does the Ford have that too? Power steering is also a very nice feature. I know I'd rather have independent PTO than the 2 stage clutch that's on our 135. If both have the same features I'd say that whichever runs smoother and whichever fits big people better is the nicer one but that little Massey is my only experience on that sized tractor. Little cramped for us.
 
We'll be in McBride without a doubt. I hope Jack brings a tractor this year too. Bring the 3000, we're featuring Ford this year.
