Truck started the other day and got it into my garage, removed spare tire in search of FPDM. I don t see anything that resembles an FPDM there. Is it possible that a 1999 F250 Super Duty does not have one? Guess my next step is look at fuel pump relay. Glanced under the hood to locate place to check fuel pressure and it looks like a place I don t really want to visit. Today the truck didn t start in a 60 degree garage.

No module on that year. My 1997 F150 was having intermitent starting issues , it was the fuel pump. I took it to a mechanic friend on a tow
truck. He went to shove it in and thought he would try it...truck started right up. Several times he went out and tried the truck and it
started every time. I brought it home and two days later it wouldn't start. Towed it to the Ford dealer and it was fuel pump issues. New pump
and the truck has always started , two years now.

Just switch the relay with the one
beside it.

If you're down to guessing I would
suggest replacing the cheap
ignition switch before the
expensive fuel pump. I've seen
several go bad in ford's from the
eighties and nineties.

I just looked on YouTube and it shows the fuel pump relay is behind the radio. I must agree pulling the gas tank to replace the pump is worth avoiding.

On my 93 halfton the fuel pump relay is right beside the horn relay. They are interchangeable. I could just swap them around if i ever had any trouble. Just doing my home work in advance.

This might (or might not) help:

I apologize for the long read, but I did condense it, I hope this may help.

When it's not starting and key is "on", is the ck eng light on? Then does the light go off when cranking? If the ck eng light comes on, that at least tells you the PCM relay is supplying power to the PCM, if it goes out while cranking, that should tell you the PCM is seeing an RPM signal from the crankshaft pos sensor.

If you want to check PCM & FP relays, go the the engine fuse box. Mark the relays so you can keep track before swapping. The PCM relay is one of three bigger cube shaped relays and is the corner one ( pos #30 ) The FP relay is the same size as PCM, just skip over the middle spot ( pos #32 ). There are only 3 big (cube shaped) relays and they are all in a line, the middle relay is the HVAC blower motor.

FYI, there is a fuel pump kill switch too (inertia switch), it's designed to kill power to the fuel pump during a collision or big impacts. This switch has to be manually reset so, I doubt the switch is your problem but you might check the connector and pins for a good contact. The switch connector can also be a place to check for power going to the pump. Keep in the mind the FP is only powered for a few seconds after turning the key "on"

As farmersamm stated need to have someone
ckeck fuel pressure. I haven't read any of
your older posts. I had a issue with my
1999 f150. 200 miles from home and would
not start at rest stop. Long story short
it had dual tanks and dual tank switch
would not work in any postion.Ckeck the
simple things first.
