A classic print. Poppin Johnny farming.
We had a grain trailer just like it. We added a 4x4
on the frame at the front to make unloading a little
easier. Pulled with an 8N. Combined with a Gleaner
A.

I know it isnt a John Deere pull type but this old poster
came to mind

(quoted from post at 13:24:22 03/18/23) I'm curious as to who is the artist?

Ron, I see nothing wrong with your curiosity. Some people have an appreciation for art. Now I can see that not everyone does, but that is no excuse for being so rude as wore out. As our mothers used to tell us: If you don't have anything good to say don't say anything.

Its from the 1940 John Deere dealer's calendar.

Walter H. Hinton did the painting and he did several more famous ones that I'm sure youve all seen for JD during that time.

Walter H. Hinton's family maintains a website showcasing SOME his incredibly varied work. As an artist in that era, I think he was somewhere on the spectrum between Norman Rockwell and N.C. Wyeth in his detailed and respectful portrayal of ''common folk''.

Thanks, warbaby! I wondered if it was Hinton, but I could not read the signature on the pic. I've seen some of his other work. As you mentioned, he put out some good stuff!
