Artificial milk?

Nope. Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent, at this juncture.
This is just another ploy by the planet has a fever crowd to get us to consume another unnatural, lab-made product. It's all about the control over the common person. And yes, I understand that this product is produced by naturally occurring microbes and fungi. So I suppose it could be considered natural, just not in my world!

The way we have fed people has changed over the centuries and will continue to change going forward. It was just a few generations ago that people ate what was close to home in terms of production so no mass distribution of prepared foods. I don't look forward to what the future may bring but will be happy to know that I lived in a fairly free time to pursue a profession that may not have made me rich offered quite a bit of personal satisfaction. When I think of things such as artificial intelligence I wonder how happy future generations will be.

Good! Now they can stop milking all those poor little almonds.

Sadly, if they simply replace the sugar ingredient with high fructose corn syrup US farmers will be all for it.

Gonna have to stop milking almonds because they feel pain. I see oat milk advertised. Wonder how long before oats have feelings too.

My first thoughts:
1) How do the people demanding organic & natural food explain laboratory grown milk on their table?
2) Will there be pictures of missing cows on the milk carton?
3) Will the carton bear the California Prop 65 warning?
4) How much energy will be consumed to artificially creat milk vs having the cow make it?

The same way they explain oil and uranium. Both oil and uranium can be found in nature and are refined to be used as energy. For most it conjures up images of major inconvenience and hardship if oil and uranium are taken out of the equation. Taking cow's milk out of the food supply creates no hardship so no problem for them. Further, they always enjoy picking on people who can'f fight back. The dairy farmers being a tiny majority of the population will not be able to fight this. Further, these same farmers will be portrayed as great harmers of nature. The advertising industry put to use for nefarious purposes means there will be barely a peep heard on behalf of farmers. Sad but the way I see it.

Nope I'll take the real milk ya'll can have this fake stuff. Beside who says this is not part of the health problems comiing down the pike we see from previous convolutions of food programs like that.

Considering that it takes 1 gallon of irrigation water to produce one almond, that doesn't sound very good environmentally.

No almonds were harmed in the milk being discussed in this thread. Almond milk was last week's grumpy old phart grousing session.

This is "artificial milk" produced by a strain of yeast. Basically, brewed.

Why do we need milk anyway? Our bodies stopped being able to process it when we were 2-3 years old. For all the "nutritients" it's claimed to have, we can't take advantage of them because we can't digest the milk to get them out.

Bovine milk is for calves. Dairy is not good for grown adult humans. Ice cream gives you diabetes from all the added sugar. Cheese stops you up. Straight milk gives you the runs. Butter fat clogs your arteries and gives you heart disease. Great stuff, this milk.

Hey how come nobody is "owed" a livelihood, until it's YOUR livelihood that is threatened? Somebody else loses their job because their industry has become obsolete, ho hum, that's capitalism, dog eat dog, get off your lazy azz and find a new job.
