Unfortunately not in my part of Texas. We ended last year 10 - 12 inches below normal and have only gotten 2 inches so far this year. Now a farmer covered in dust would be more realistic here.

They are telling us to watch out for the snow pack up north, its all coming south sooner than later. Last fall we were told that the Mississippi River was going dry and could never float a barge again .

(quoted from post at 12:22:50 03/10/23) If in Texas, he would be red, instead of black, right?
ould be either or neither. Big state. Many types of soil. Within 2 hour drive, I can be in grey sand, blackland, or red clay.

We got back from a holiday a couple weeks ago that include Louisiana Alabama and Tennessee. Theres lots of water in the Mississippi to float barges where we where.

That's kind of how it's been around here already. Was hoping to catch some relief through the spring.

We got one rain that was over an inch in December. And another one like it in January. Along with other precipitation here and there. One inch rains in December and January is kind of un-heard of here that time of year. I really shouldn't complain, because it could of been the equivalent of that moisture, but only in the form of snow.

There's been times doing chores in the cattle lot, that looked like this.

More will be coming! I still cant drive the front wheel assist loader through the cornstalks the cattle are on, snow is too deep. More coming tomorrow. Cant see the buildings in the yard the snow is lied so high with the loader.

Good thing it was a little drier last fall and there is hardly any frost, so some of it will soak away, but we have far more moisture stacked around than we will need or can use.

Southern MN.

It is dry for March here in southern Ohio.
Makes it nice feeding, but has me concerned about moisture going into spring.

Ah the memory of slogging through mud half way up the 5 buckle overshoes with a ful basket of silage on my shouder to the feed bunk with a dozen yearings waiting at the gate. Made college and town work look better.......circa 1952. Leo
