Is This Social Media?

Filling out a Nielsen survey. Some of the questions involve how much I use/like/depend on "social media." At first, I was inclined to say very little. Then, one of the questions asked which of certain activities I participate in on social media. One activity is "message boards." Got me to wondering if YT is social media. If so, I guess I'd have to say I'm a big fan of social media

It is a topic specific (kinda) forum that does qualify as social (some days less social than it should be. Jim

It is so far removed from what they are really asking about when they say "social media" that I don't consider it such. This is more of a hobby / occupational group.

ractor Tales (OT) in my opinion is [u:f2d7f46882]most definitely[/u:f2d7f46882] 'social media' and Tractor Tale it maybe a little lesser degree, but the more technical & serious forums, such as Ford 9N, 2N, 8N, Ferguson, IH, Allis-Chalmers, and the like [u:f2d7f46882]I do not call[/u:f2d7f46882] social media.[u:f2d7f46882][/u:f2d7f46882]

Don't you dare send in your survey results NP ..... before you know it there will be foreign aliens putting computer tracking chips in your potato chips.

Well, I forgot to mention they've promised me $10 in exchange.
That's probably a reasonable tradeoff.

In my opinion discussion forums like this are what social media should be; people with a common interest being able to come together, converse and share through the discussion board or facilitating private exchange.

I do not think social media should involve algorithms deciding that something about you or your interests should be scattered out across the internet with no intention on your part.

I know it s much more complicated than that but I m just gonna shut up now.

As soon as I found out what it was Click, off delete. NO way
would I fill out something like that.

My favorite are those who claim to "hate social media" yet post here with alarming, almost addictive, regularity.

This is social media. One of the earliest forms, from before "socual media" was even a term.

That would be my assessment. I guess it depends on how you define "social media".
