Ha! Reminds me of when dad dredged our pond about 1960 and they got a guy with a pretty new Bucyrus-Erie drag line with a Detroit 2-cycle diesel, and a bunch of guys with small dump trucks. The drag line operator was an old guy and he could maniputale the machine with precision. The Detroit would groan a down a bit and speed up. I always liked the Detroits. That impressed me as a little kid. The drag line would load the trucks with the spoils and send their loads off to where we needed fill. So rules in those days were nothing. As a little kid, I road with Mr. Layton in his 1956 Chevy dump truck. He was a character with a cigar in his mouth and one day the dragline dumped a load of dirt on the roof of his truck. He was not happy. All funny, intersting memmories.
