Does it act the same way with dual power in both rabbit and turtle?

The dual power, diff lock, MFWD, and 3pt are all powered off the same hydraulic pump/circuit.

But you should still be able to shift in and out of gear with the main clutch depressed.

Applegate welcome to YT! Since you are new here a
few things need to be known before we can proceed.
What is your experience with tractors? Do you already
have some others that you have maintained and used?
Knowing these things will help us know if you are
aware that proper fluid levels may have a large effect
on the problem you are asking about. Did you buy it
out of junker row in the back for a ..bargain.. price? Did
it set unused a long time? There are just a lot of things
that can affect the problems you are listing. It sounds
like maybe the lining in the clutch may be coming
apart. I do not know enough about Fords to answer the
3 point question outside of the consideration that it
may not have enough hydraulic fluid which could also
cause the dual power not to engage properly.

The dual power will be engaged in, I believe, low without any hydraulic pressure, by a spring. So lack of hydraulic pressure wouldn't keep it from moving. lack of movement and lack of lift would be separate problems. How do you know what it does when in gear if it won't go into gear?

Sounds like you have a main clutch failure of some sort.

You also have a lift issue to sort out.

Fix the clutch issue and go from there. While replacing the clutch checkout the PTO hub and shaft splines. Those splines drive the hydraulics for pto/3pt/diff lock/mfwd.

Curious does the PTO work and hold under a load?

We have started it in gear (1st gear turtle) and moved to trailer but wouldn t pull up the trailer ramps

Ah Ha!! A clue. Sounds like it is slipping with just a tiny load.
