John Deere 4455 ft. wheel assist stolen off St Rt 45 north of Lisbon Ohio . Was headed North on 45 followed a white flat bed truck . Around and hour later the tractor was seen headed West on U S 30 at around 3 am or so as it went past one of my old customers places . Any one with any more info call the Columbiana County Sheriffs 0ffice . For what ever good that does. It is starting to look like the equipment theifs are starting to work the area again.

Had something like that happen with a car that was in for service. Car went missing overnight. While filing police reports and such, it was discovered that the owner was late on payments and the car was repossessed.

Some years ago, a local IH dealer had a tractor stolen. I forget the exact model, but something on the order of a 1086.

Funny part was, they didn't miss it for a couple of days. On a Saturday morning, a salesman had a nibble on it, and when the Service manager saw it was missing he thought it had been sold. That same morning, a salesman noticed it was gone off the line and assumed the service department had it. It wasn't until Monday or Tuesday they compared notes and found it was actually missing.

Then, while scouting the area, they found tracks where a truck had been backed into a road ditch a half mile from the dealership and the tractor had been driven on. By then, the tractor was probably out of the country.

Several years back my one good friend calls me on a Saturday morning and asked me where i parked the skid steer as i was doing chores for him for a couple days . I told him where it always is parked in the barn . Nope it was GONE . Someone drove in from the back side of the farm with a four wheel drive opened the barn door and drove it out the back side of the farm to the road and it was loaded and gone on the coldest night of the year . well cows still needed fed so he rented one and that can dig deep into the piggy bank . In the mean time i went looking for a replacement and found another L X 665 with a cab. He and i went and looked at it run it around and bought it . A couple months go by when he gets a call from the local sheriff that they think they have it . In the mean time his insurance has not paid one dime for anything . So he goes down to the impound yard and yup there is his skid steer now setting on four new tires . so he shows proff that yes this is his OLD skid steer that was stollen and goes home to get the trailer to haul it home . When he get back to the impound yard now the insurance adjuster is there and trys to claim it as theres . he informed them that they don't own it as they have never paid for it and the sheriff agreed . and he took it home .
