Articles on this tractor say only 15 were ever sold. The 1963 Allis T-16. Some are saying there might be 4 or 5 left in existence today. This is a picture from maybe 10 yr ago, not mine. Have heard there was one in SW Indiana and another in N Dakota. Have you ever seen one at a tractor show. These were sold in LA for rice farmers back in the 1960's but apparently suffered from breakdowns so production was stopped..Seems like a T-16 would be as valuable as a U D L X if only 5 are left in existence. What is your thought on the yesterdays tractor T-16.

Its interesting that the UDLX has set the bar for rare value. While it is a unique piece it is not uncommon to know somebody that has a UDLX. For me a 40-70 Flour City or a 40-70 Imperial would be the holy grail.

(quoted from post at 13:36:05 03/01/23) The front end looks a bit like the back end of an old Michigan straight frame wheel loader.

Odds are good it's mostly a "reversed" Allis Chalmers rigid frame wheel loader.

IH did something similar with the 4100/4156/4166/4186 line of tractors.

It just seems to me like there was one on Classic Tractor Fever. It was yellow, rough and in it's work clothes.

This might have been taken at a Mcfadden auction about 10 yrs ago. Where are they based at or are they every where.

'it is not uncommon to know somebody that has a UDLX.' ..... seriously? I saw one at auction once, I think it was complete but the cab was outside and the fenders were off, I forgot what it sold for.

Rice farmers? Those tires would not go ten feet in the rice fields near me.The gumbo mud would clog those shallow treads instantly

Based on the TL16 loader. The four cylinder 344 cu in engine was also used in the HD 6 crawler, but cranked up for this application. It didn't hold up, so they put the 426 six cylinder tractor engine in it. Yellow for industrial use, and orange for farm use.

Not that the info on Tractordata.com is 100% accurate but they describe the T-16 as....

The Allis-Chalmers T16 was based on the TL16 industrial loader. In field work, the tractor suffered from problems with the engine and transmission. Yellow versions of the tractor were sold through the Allis industrial division as the "Sugar Babe" for use in cane fields as a haulage tractor.

Well maybe its a Midwest thing, but its not uncommon to see UDLX at shows. Im not saying they come out for every farm show or county fair, but they are out there. Put it this way. Ive seen far more UDLXs than I have T-16s. Regarding Flour Citys? Only one and Imperials none.

Are you asking about where is MacFaddens based or Allis Chalmers?
