Saw this at a show in Holland, never come across one before. No mould board just an auger driven by the PTO on the tractor. Would be interested to see it work.

That plow was used in the rice fields to cut furrows that would help drain the water. We had one.....don't know what happen to it.

As said, terracing plow. Was a joint venture between Servees and IH. Written about in a past(very past) issue of red power Magazine. I have one. Play with it at plow day sometimes. That thing will really throw dirt! An older gent calls it the Mongolian dirt thrower.Other locals now call it that too!

I think the 'proper' name is/was Servis Whirlwind Terracer.Sold/marketed/manufactured by IH.Was first developed in the '30s/40s when folks started contour farming

i see it has a mould board . even a transmission to match speeds. that super m has the lucas pump on it i see. i thought only the early diesels used that pump.

I own one.

It was intended to be used to make terraces, and it was a standard piece of equipment in the day.

It also works great for forming waterways, etc.

I have one that has been converted to 3 point. Dad bought it cheap at auction, had plans to make some waterways. Its still sitting where dad unloaded it.

I need to dig it out and just work with it some day, never seen one in operation.

I say that every February, then think of it every June after all fields are planted, and again after harvest when there is 1 day before the first big snow and I have 2 days of field work left.... sigh.

Our tractor club here in Montana has a pull-type one.
Trouble is, no one really knows how to use it.
I thought about it, but I've got enough things to do at the show.

Yes terrace plow. Can also be used just for drainage ditches. Saw one at a Sullivan auction in Carthage, Illinois. Here are some pictsif they load.
