I have an older 12 turning plow and wondering if a 16.9 tire will work in furrow?

no your finished job will be ridges because of the big tire in the furrow

A 14.9 is actually too big for a 12 inch bottom but we got by with it.

The difference between a good plowing job and a bad one is one pass with a disc. Your setup will not be ideal but once or twice over with a disc should cover it up especially if it is not a huge acreage. Tom

It will work alright. I plowed with 16.9's in furrow from 4 X14

13.6 would be better.
