Kubota tractors

Hello all I have enjoyed this site for many years. I am thinking of trading my McCormick CX95 on a Kubota. Nothing much wrong with the CX except its age, little things are starting to go wrong and Im too old to be crawling under or through a tractor. Im looking at a 2016 M5-111D or a 2018 M5-111 Kubota, both are FWA with FEL. Does anyone have any experience with these tractors or Kubotas in general?

Just a general statement about Tier IV tractor emission controls. There are a lot of reliability problems with almost all brands. Most are common rail fuel systems for power control. I don't what your CX95 has.

Good luck on whatever you decided to do.

Kubota switched to common rail fuel injection in 2013 with emissions soon following
Just me but personally I'd look for a low hour 2012 or older

I have three Kubotas and they are all good to me. I don't know about the new electronic and DEF ones. Part of the reason I like the Kubotas is because the dealer has been in business since 1926 and has a great reputation.

Kubota is good and I would buy another, I have a smaller M series and it is well built, reliable and good on fuel. Next tractor will be Kubota.

No hands on with M5-111, but it is certainly emissions and electronics heavy (like everything else new) compared to a CX series.

My 2019 L3560 doesn't use DEF.
I bought Kubota because Terre Haute only has one good dealer that sells Case IH and Kubota. Been in business since 1967.
I want dealer support.

I have a M135 GX, I bought it new with the 51 Kubota loader in I think 2014, and it has been an absolutely great trouble free tractor. And it has just over 3000 hours now. In 2018 I bought another ne Kubota tractor the same size ,M6 141. The M6 required DEF. While I always enjoyed operating this tractor as it was as virtually identical to my 135 Kubota, it was a constant pain in the backside with the DEF system. The injection manifold had to be replaced twice, the heater for the DEF failed and caused some kind of dead short within the electrical system, eventually killing the battery to the point it had to be replaced. And the Electronic Control Module failed, and left me stranded on the side of the road with a hay mower on the back of the tractor. The repair on that was close to 5 grand with service call and all to get the tractor off the side of the road. I dealt the tractor off just a month ago on a used tractor without DEF. My Kubota had only 2,400 hour on it. It would have had more as it was my main haying tractor, but there were times when it sat at the dealership for a week to 10 days getting the bugs worked out of the lousy DEF system. Dont get me wrong, I think the Kubota tractors are good tractors, but dont buy one with DEF. I also had a M100 GX with the 41 loader. Supposed to be a 100 ho tractor, but I was asking it to do too much I guess, because the bolts that hold the loader mount to the tractor frame snapped off while I was loading manure, bending the loader frame. That was when I traded it in on the M6 141.
I wouldnt buy a tractor smaller than the M6 series. Just my actual experience. As I said I love my M135 GX and use it everyday it is a fairly big tractor, the loader is built by Alo, just like the NH or CIH loaders. Stay clear of DEF until the systems are perfected or just take it off, but that will void warranty

Everything you said about the L3560 when I asked about them last spring was spot on. Very pleased with the one we have too.

I bought one in 1987 and it is a great tractor for it's size. What I read on the orange forum is the newer tractors don't measure up to what mine is.

Bought an L4060 last fall, 37 HP, hydrostat, PS, loader, 3 point, 1 remote, no DEF, regen system. My Case 430 has been started once since.

Above the L40 series started to get DEF and as noted, that seems to be the weakness.

I have a Kubota L4310 43hp hydro with loader no Def I think it's around a 2000 model it has been a great tractor I've had it six years I have a grapple on one end and a logging winch on the rear I have skidded several hundred logs with it plus many hours brushhogging.i keep the engine and hydro trans oil changed when it's supposed to and I use all Kubota oil and filters I'm very pleased with it.i have two smaller Kubotas that I mow grass with and also have a Kubota side by side.

I bought a new M6060 HDC in 2017 (regen not DEF) At 350 hours it needed new injectors while still under warranty. This past year at 700 hours, new updated injectors at a cost of 4100. to me. Dealer said they were contaminated with metal. I still think my Kubota is a good tractor, they just didn't know enough about the common rail system to have enough clearance in the injectors. I think it will be good now with no more problems. I did look at my neighbors John Deere that's about the same size as my Kubota and his seems to be made a lot heavier than mine. Just my thoughts. Keith

I have an L 3010. It has been a great tractor. Routine maintenance (Fluid, filters, cleaning) battery, and a glow plug relay are all I have had to do with it in the twelve years I've owned it
