Steel price

What is a fair price to pay for dimensional steel? Someone has square tubing and channel a little rusty but in good shape for .50 cents a pound.

New steel is running $1.70 to $1.80/lb. No bargains these days. $0.50 is a good/fair price for surplus tube and channel.

We buy 100k pounds a month, or more. $0.58/ a pound.. Odd stuff might be a lot more, depending on when our supplier bought it. Stainless is about $2.50 a pound, but a lot more volatile.

Call a local supplier and ask for pricing. $0.50 is cheap.

Not going to buy new for that price. Average is about $1.50/lb depending what your buying. If you need what they are selling, I would get it before it's gone.
