JD Two bottom Plow

You could get a two bottom in a 44 trip or Hyd model 4 or
model 52. There are others Im forgetting for sure. Most
came as 12 14 and 16 inch. I have a 2- 12 model 52 that I
pull behind my 39 B. Soil condition and engine condition
are big factors on how much your tractor can handle. My 36
B can handle the 2-12 in sandy soil out at my uncles but
would choke on the old river bottom near here.

I have a model 52 that I pull behind my 40B that would
probably be about the vintage you should be looking for.
Mine is 2-14 but I have to go in 2nd gear. Tom in Mn

Correct plow for that tractor is the No. 52 plow and very
easy plowing ground you could handle a 2-14Inch but a 2-12
inch is better or even a No, 51 plow that is a single
bottom and I don't know if they made any other size than a
16 in bottom. I had a 46 B that is same tractor as your
tractor and had to plow in low first gear all the time, No
way could I have pulled a 2-14 inch plow but that is what
Deere rated them as And their ratings had to be in easy
working ground. By soil was medieum in working condition.
And the 51 0r 52 plows were only made with clutch lift. The
4B plow was made at the same time but was a heavier plow
made for the A or G or even a D tractor, too much for your
tractor. And the 44 plow was not built until 2-3 years
after your tractor was and is the weight of a 4B plow. Made
for later B a and G tractors. I also had a 44H plow.
Adjustable for 12 inch or 14 inch furrows. If you just want
the plow for show go with the no 52 in 14 bottom but if
you plan to pull the plow in ground stick with 12 inch
bottoms unless your ground is heavy clay then satay with a
single bottom and that single bottom was built for that
tractor.
