I saw this in the Abilene, Tx Sams parking lot and
snapped a photo. I have no information on it, but figured
it might evoke a memory or two for some on here.

I like it. I have the same vintage GMC that I restored several years ago. These were genuine work trucks.

The grill is obviously 54 or 55 1st. series Chevy. The hood emblem almost looks like a GMC item. But a little hard to tell from a pic. My phone doesn't have fine enough definition to say for sure.

My dad had an early 55 GMC. After he took it off the road in 1970 we used it around home.

54 and 55 1st series both used the same grill. Basically exact same pickups. Both also had flat box rails, park lamps mounted in the grill extensions and 1 piece windshields. 53 and before had different grill, 2 piece windshield, park lamps between the grill bars and angled box rails. GMC had the same changes, except only the grill surround was changed. The center part of the grill remained the same as 53 and earlier.

Nice old truck from the 1950,s. My dad owned a 1948 GMC 3/4 ton. Bought it new and ran it until 1971 tough old trucks

Still a few of those in my area, not as scarce as you might think. I have a neighbor that has a 1/2 ton, a 3/4 ton , a 1 ton and a 2 ton ,all green and all 1954's.

I had a red 49 that I drove for quite a few years. I would tune it up in the fall and it would start all winter. I worked construction during the summer and in the winter what ever I could find to haul paid the fuel. The Wisconsin winters werent kind to it and I retired it when the pedals started rubbing the floor boards

Side view of the grille looks like a '54. My first car was a '34 Ford coupe, all original. First truck was a '47 Chebby hot water 6 with 3 on the tree....biggest mistake I made with the truck was to change the oil, first thing after the purchase.....I could compete with the WWII Jeep spray rigss that used to spray mosquitoes in the summer in my hood. My hometown used to flood most every spring...Tx. gulf coast. When I would get in running board high water the clutch would start slipping!
