I hadn't heard that, thanks for the heads up Jon. Way closer to me. I just hope the new owner is half as good as Dan and doesn't run it in to the ground.

Are you sure Dan sold it Jon? I didn't have time to go to the website last night before I replied, but just did. It only said they made the difficult decision to move to a different location. It could very well work out better for them. Pierce Engines was right around the corner from them in Lansing and when my son bought them out and moved it up home here, all of his customers followed him up here. He was busy down there, but it's insane how busy he is here. I hope it doesn't slow Dan down so we can't get same day service.

One of them moved from the old place behind Airport Tavern to across Grand River. I don't know who did the move, Dan or the new guys but it was the new guys that moved to LakeO. She said the other place was too small and they weren't allowed to do much machine work so they moved. Dan sold the business to them and retired.

Last spring I went looking for them as I wanted some friction discs for a slip clutch on my trencher but couldn't find them. Eventually I found out about the new Grand River location and found it but never went there. Lately I went looking again but they were gone from there. I figured they couldn't make it and closed. It was just chance I found them and it was on my way to LakeO. Just to make sure it was them I stopped in and met the new owner and got the story.

OK, ya, I knew they had moved out to Grand River about two blocks east. They were there the last time I went. Those old warehouses got sold to a dope grow operation. Things seemed kind of cramped. Dan was working alone at the time. He had told his sidekick to take six months off and take the extended unemployment since they didn't know how the business would be effected by the lock down. He said he was regretting it, but didn't want to ask him to come back after he had just told him to take the time off. I hadn't been there since he had taken on a partner.
