Looking at a 200 with just over 4000 hrs. Looks very clean and intact. Nice HP for the dollar but not familiar with the model, Any feedback regarding durability, red flags and most importantly, parts would be appreciated. Know a bit about the AC line, like them, just don't know much about the 200. Looks like a year around cab. Thanks!

You might have better luck posting this in the AC section. Dr Allis and probably others can tell you anything you'd ever want to know about it

I like them. Had a 190xt. Model before
them. Engine is practically bulletproof.
So is.the two speed. Main problem is
jumping out of 3rd gear or 4th. My xt
would lift out of 4th when there was no
load. Just took a light bungee cord to
hold it in. Transmission not that
expensive to fix. But have to split in
middle. I pull a D17 with a bigger motor
than a 200. I replaced 3rd gear with all
used parts except bearings last summer.

In all honestly i have never heard anybody say, it was a good tractor, or the best tractor i ever had, they just didnt last very long, all though i will say they had a snappy engine,, but electrolysis was rampant in the 301 engine, my opinion is, 4,000 hours it is over for that,no matter how nice it looks!

The 200 is a slightly improved version of
a 190XT series 3. The main knock on most
A-Cs of that era was the PTO which would
run if the power director is used to stop
the tractor but would stop if one used the
foot clutch. I'm not going to get into the
live vs independent PTO supidity but the
PTO will run continuously if the tractor is
operated as designed. Not a problem for
people raised on ACs but is for people
whoes intuition is to hit the foot clutch.
Engine is a good as any ever made. Make
sure it stays in gear and don't grind
gears and it will stay that way. A tractor
that old condition and care is more
important than anything else including
brand bias.

Thanks Butch, great info.

I have 1 with a factory cab. I like it better than the 4020, the 1800 Oliver, and the 806. Only thing I
don't like about it is where they put the batteries, under the cab floor. Their a royal pain to change.
It starts nice in cold weather, the hydraulic PTO is a + in mine. It steers good too.
