His main drive spline is wore a quite a bit i would say 45% gone, so would that be a normal for 10,000 hours of use!I am just curious, mine hasn't been apart for many years,i still plow with mine!

I would say it depends on the operator and the operation. Around this area if on a dairy it would be hauling manure and chopping corn when it is wet. The soils on average are heavy so plowing is tough and then there are the hills. So things would be worn over the course of 10,000 hours.

Likely/typically there's more going on than simple ''wear''. GOOGLE 'rust fretting of splines'' for more insight.

I would question much more than about 4-5000 hours since I bought my 806 it has had the splined drive in the pressure plate changed once or twice. It has had a lot of PTO work chopping dry hay for the barn filling a 90 foot long bar mow for several years along with a lot of manure spreader duty and sprayer work. Then of course all the hydraulic work like plowing and such all loads the spline more than just driving around pulling wagons would. That spline drives everything hydraulically plus the PTO unit all the time the engine is running. I change that brass bushing in the back end for the non TA shaft every time I am in there working on that spline.

The IDPTO input shaft and the pressure plate will ware more on some then others , this depends on what all you do . Tractors used primarily for tillage and not heavy PTO work last a lot longer Like on mine i have had that ugly 806now since something like back in 94-95 and so far we have put in two clutches , one due to pulling the center out of the disc and at that time i did replace the IDPTO input as it was well woren . Then i did replace it when it went out from all the PTO work it does as it has become the go to for all the hay mowing and all the feed grinding plus brush hogging some manure hauling and spray tractor . They never seam to ware out when they are setting . Once the weather breaks i have the 1066 to do and come to think of it this is the third one on it , It does all the silage choppen and some feed grinding when the 806 is hooked to something . stop and think about it a bit and it is a wonder they last as long as they do being a dry spline running in a high dust area from clutch dust and the grindings off the flywheel and the light rust from seeting then back to running and wearing the rust off .

Well that is where my 806 is at over 10000 hours and the only thing that has been off the engine on mine is the valve cover . I can tell the head has never been off as with the early 361 the head bolts are NOT a normal 6 point head , they have and 8 point female sorta like and allen head . and NOT many have the ORG. special service tool socket for that head bolt . Some will use a 1/2 square to remove and replace and this can be done BU it leaves teltale signs . still runs great , T/A is still good , hyd's getting a little lazy , she leaks almost everywhere , the lights all work , does have a good seat and steering wheel and almost new rear radials . added a nice wide ft. only to not keep hearing my buddy whine about running over the hay while mowing . As i personally like the Narrow.
