Got the front rims wire wheeled
and painted yesterday. Tires and
tubes today. Local shop mounted
them. Red paint started.

I thought you were painting those little jewels with a brush. Isn't that overspray under the front axle? Either which way it is looking good. I was just jealous because I can never make paint look that good with a brush.

It's brushed.... We do rattle can a few parts .... And my son (Mick) paints model cars in the shop sometimes, we get some odd over spray colors....

Looks good. Nothing like new tires to add a finishing touch to a job. What's in the glass jar seen thru the front wheel?
Patti and I are headed south next month. Maybe we'll get to see the finished tractor if we have time to stop(I hope).

Glass jar was going to catch any gear oil that was in the front end..... There wasn't any! Stop by any time!

Poor man's powder coat.

You probably know this but if you use a good quality foam brush and put the right amount on you think it was sprayed on.

Cast iron parts are easy to brush paint. I usually use a regular brush for the first coat, and a foam brush for the next one. On the second coat, I sort of dab the paint on, rather than use brush strokes. That eliminates any brush marks that might be present. Looks as good as if you sprayed it on.
