Ford 7000 flywheel mounted pump

Howdy, I have a Ford 7000 row crop. I have heard some people mention a flywheel or side mounted hydraulic pump but I am having trouble finding one. If anyone knows where if they are around or where to get one or the part number for one that would be great.

Google can be your friend! I had never heard of them either, so I highlighted you topic, selected google it, and see lots of them! It doesn't look like a good idea to me, the gears are going to be in constant mesh with no lubrication.

Link to what you found, please.

I think you'll find the pump doesn't actually run off the flywheel,but off a gear on the rear of the cam.It is easy to assume it is the flywheel,the way it is mounted it does look to be flywheel until you look at it real close.

Another version mounts farther rearward on the side of the transmission case and drives of of the PTO geartrain.

As Keith and Wore out said;
There is a gear on the rear end of the camshaft that powers the pump on the 3 cylinder engines. The 4 cylinder models should have the cast mounting for one.
On a 7000 the mount will be covered by a plate. Remove the plate to see if the gear is there. If it is not you will need to split the tractor to install one.
I don't know when they started doing it but the later/larger Fords could be bought with an auxiliary pump there. There was some way of connecting the main pump and aux pump to get a much higher flow but that is beyond my ken.
Photos show that cover on a 545 and a side pump on a 3600 - both 3 cyl models.
The 3600 gear pump produces ~ 8 gpm.

If your wanting to install a second pump like the ones used on a 10 series tractor there s a good bit more involved than just adding a pump
You ll need a priority valve, piping and the deluxe remotes that go with that system
To install it on a 7000 row crop with its unique remote valve setup would be even more difficult
