Looking for a JD 40 in Arkansas

Hopefully this isn t posted in the wrong section. Just throwing this out there to see if I get any leads. I live in central Florida. My grandaddy traded his John Deere 40U , serial # 63724 , into the local dealership back in the early 80 s. The owner of the dealership and life long friend of my grandaddys , Ross Lanier, took it home that night and put in his barn. In the mid 90 s Ross loaded up the 40 along with a yellow 3010/3020 grove tractor and moved to Quitman, Arkansas. I was a teenager at the time And never saw him again and had no way to contact him, I didn t even know where I went until just a few years ago. A family member out there got me up to date, said he remembered both of the tractors and they had sold them after Ross has passed, this and prob been at least 15 years ago, if not more. He was pretty sure a fellow that had a road side produce stand or farmers market in Guy, Arkansas had bought the 40. He also said that it was still in good shape at the time. That is its last location I know of, dead ended. I am not familiar with that area or know anyone out there. If any one reading this has any kind of information at all that would help me find the tractor I would love to hear from you. It could easily be in another state far away by now. I do not have an actual photo of the 40, All I have is the ledger books from the dealership where my grandaddy originally bought it. Again ,I d like to hear ANY leads or information anyone has regarding the area , people there, or whereabouts of the tractor. Thanks

The serial number would help some with finding it. Guy AR is north of Little Rock probably around 50-75 miles. Take 65 north of Conway on a map then fork off on 25 will take you right into it. Out in the middle of nowhere there. I'm in MI been down into AR a lot of times but only person I know there is from Cave city. Lamans equipment buys and sells construction equipment.

Did you realize that your post will only move to the top in Modern View? It is on page 7 in Classic View right now and going further back with every new post. Post on Classic stay where they were posted in time, no bumping to the top in Classic.

I’m still looking . I have a lot of patience,
Yep you’re going to need it! Best of luck! This is a noble idea but finding another 40U and fixing it up as a tribute tractor is probably a more fulfilling approach. The odds of finding that tractor is equivalent to winning the big purse in a lottery.

Oldsarge, how did you get that tractor? Probably kept it, correct? I am not trying to discourage him, just looking at the raw reality. The odds for this guy to find that tractor are pretty astronomical. I did not come right out and say it but if he did find it he could sell the “tribute” tractor to help fund the purchase of “the one”!
