I picked up this AC blade and used it today on my 1850 to plow the church driveway. There is a large gap between the top frame and the bottom piece that turns to angle the blade. Is there a piece missing or why are the 2 pieces so far apart?? There is a lot of play on the blade assembly. Any suggestions?? Thanks,Chris

Can you put a piece of threaded rod in to draw it together, maybe some help from a C clamp, then weld an L shaped piece under it to hold it closer?

Looking at that picture, it looks like it has a piece that comes down under that plate, welded to the round tube, like I suggested.

You are missing the bottom half of the loop. You can see the broken part where it was. The angle plate is also bent down.

Ok, now that is making some sense. I thought the swivel plate was bent, but didn't realize there was supposed to be a piece under it to hold it up. This old girl has had a hard life, every major joint has been welded on. Thanks, now I have a job for a warm day!! Chris

It's bent and worn out. Back blades are some of the most abused pieces of farm equipment. People think they have a bulldozer and start trying to dig out tree stumps, when the blade is built for pushing loose dirt.
