Ford 532 IPTO Clutch Brake removal

Just checking if anyone here has ever pulled one. Mine needs to be serviced. Tractor is new to me. First time using, PTO clutch
brake locked up after 2 acres shredded.

I've pulled the side cover off and have it unlocked. Can't get the piston out. My question is, can I remove the assembly through
the top plate or do I need to split the tractor? I have seen both answers depending on who you ask. Also my service manual doesn't
seem to match my tractor, so I just don't know who to get a definitive answer from.

My service manual doesn't show double springs inside the brake assembly, but that's what came out.

The only way pto will lock is no pressure to release it. It will need to be split because pto clutch assembly will not clear drive line. May have to pull lift cover too.

Thanks Shaun. I have a different Service Manual on the way. Hoping the new one does a better job showing what to do and how to do it.

Thanks!

Just catching the good people here up to what's been done. Lift cover has been removed. PTO brake sorted and reinstalled. Almost done with reassembly after tractor split.

Hey Destroked. It was never a PTO brake issue. The problem was at the front of the transmission. Ford 3610 trans was swapped in sometime prior to my purchase. Wrong PTO Input shaft for reaching all the way to splined hub in the 532 clutch. They barely reached each other and separated on my first use where I was shredding some heavy brush. That of course caused complete loss of rear end hydraulics. I disassembled, cleaned and reinstalled the PTO brake. Fingers crossed, but I'm quite sure all is good there.

You need to learn about Modern View vs Classic view.
In modern view you can reply to an old thread and it will show up at the top of the list.
But if you read these forums in Classic view it will show up as a disconnected post and if you click on it it shows the last post but is not connected to Anything. Most of the members on this site use Classic. They may click on your current post but they aren't going to bother clicking over to Modern to see what in the H you were talking about. So you lose a full half of your readers and responders.
I had to click over to Modern to make this reply but it was just to inform you of this but I likely won't do it for you again.
