Super C catastrophe

Last Saturday afternoon I took the Super C out to try getting the driveway open. I got it open and was backing in the shed when the right control lever for the touch control hyd got pulled out of my hand. I found a big cotter key tore up on the rockshaft that also destroyed the control operating link.

Looked like junk to me so I went over to the junk yard and got another one. Kind of handy for Farmall parts only about four or five miles away.

There used to be 2 tractor yards near us. Now there are none. When I bought this Farmall 460, I did not realize both of the yards had cleaned house. One says they get some parts in every once in a while, but they aren't very cooperative in providing any more information than that!

Looks to me like somebody put too long of a cotter key in the rockshaft at one time and didn't get the ends bent good enough,
which looks like a tuff job to do anyway. The key jumped up abought three quarters of an inch and bent the control linkage badly.

I Shure hope the new used one works or the tractor's going to be useless to me.
