Hi all, I am looking for a loader for my Ford 531 LCG (Low Center
of Gravity) tractor; I was told that a loader from

That tractor is not a good match for a front loader. Mounting a loader with that cab is one problem and the utility front axle is another.

The cab complicates things. If you do plan to mount a loader be certain to fabricate a frame from the back axle and use a small bucket if possible. Avoid mid mounting.

There is bolt holes to put one on and Ive seen 531s with loaders. Anyways I wa told a loader from a Ford 2000 wiuld fit so Ill investigate that and see

Yes with correct mounts a front loader can be installed. However i stand by my statement that the tractor with the utility front axle is not a good match for a loader. The heavier tractors like the 4000 series and up tractors with straight row crop front axles and components were better choices for loader tractors. The utility style tractors are great for three point implements. Also the hydraulic system is marginal for a loader.

Just curious, are you old enough to have seen the FoMoCo shop bulletin warning not to regrind crankshaft for 172 diesels and to install new when rebuilding them? Not going to put down when that came out to give way to how old I am. Lol

I never saw that bulletin but is clearly stated in the 192 parts book crankshaft cannot be reground. We did anyway... just got bearings somewhere else.... reliance, I think... That was a couple decades ago, everything still fine...

Not going to state my age but i started work at a Ford dealership in 1976 three years after i finished high school. So that bulletin was several years before then. I have seen a little of everything over the years. Re-Ground and broken cranks, missing balancers and all kinds of no no's.

That warning is posted here at YT every year. Along with the warning is the statement that they can be ground provided it is not too much. Some thing like .020, but one should do a search for one of the discussions to verify it.

No one makes a loader to fit your 531 LCG that I know of, not to mention that you also have a cab (double whammy). If you really want to put a loader on your tractor it can be done, but it's going to require lots of custom fabrication to make it work. Buy a industrial tractor with a loader already on it you would be much better off.

Where are you located? I have a Ford loader on my 2110LCG that bolts on w/no fabricating. I'm considering replacing it w/a front blade.
