John Deere MT steering wheel adjustment lock knob

are these available / and has anyone ever repaired these adjustable steering shafts mine will not lock in any position.

On the one we had when I was growing up, Dad wired the knob to the steering wheel so it couldn't turn. That was the only way to secure that one. Otherwise it would always come loose. One time it slid in and out and I caught my finger on those sharp teeth. Cut the hell out of it.

You don't need the assembly. Most
often it's the notches in the shaft
that gets worn out.

Remove the lock. Use plenty of
penetrating oil so the spring ears
will move and put a new ball in.
That will work if the shaft is
decent. If not set the steering
wheel where you want it. Remove the
hood and drill a hole through the
shaft and put a pin in it.
