50 JD Cultivator rod 3

I'm going to try again to post the photo of this extra rod on my 200 cultivator.

That rod would hook up to the fertilizer side dressing attachment that could mount on those cultivators

I never had anything like that with my cultivators. That about side dressing,
I never saw a side dresser so no idea how they were made but definatly not a
part for the cultivator but possibly for the sudedressor. The first JD
cultivators we had did not even have the quick tatch as it was not yet made.
First one came out of a junk yard in 1957 for a 38 JD A and hand lift. And I
remember the JD dealer saying the quick tatch 2 row cultivators keep them
jumping as they coyld not get enough for the demand. But hp here in Ohio there
were no side dressers on cultivators.. So what you described that piece to be
did not make any sence to me. I turned 79 last fall and bought my first
tractor in 1963 a 46 John Deere B for $220 at auction. Used it for years.

Shown in photo below is one style of fert side dresser clutch throw-out rod for model 200 cultivator. I've never seen rod similar to OP's photo & I agree I think it wasn't designed to attach to cult rig lift pipes. .

Thank you Tx Jim for the attached photo. It certainly clears up what my rod "isn't"! It's -6 degrees here this morning so I'll wait until a hot day next summer to put the cultivator on the tractor. Some previous owner of the tractor sawed off the bolts on the front that hold that bottom bracket so I have to drill and "easy out" the rest out before I can start assembling. Thanks again. Merry Christmas

You're welcome & I wish you a Merry Christmas

Photo I posted may not be from correct parts catalog. My knowledge of front fertilizer side dressing attachments is very limited because I don't remember any JD fert side dressers sold in my locale.

PS: I'm 1/2 German decent. My maternal grand parents emigrated from Germany. I remember my Grandmother & my Aunt(Mom's sister) spoke fluent German language & my GM's maiden last name was Pfeiffer

I am from Ohio and I think I rember several years ago an estate sale where the
person had a side derser for his Dearborn 2 row 3 point cultivator. Dought it
had ever been used.

And I am mostly German with 2 great grandparents Swiss and one from France as
far as I know. With the Grand parents by name comes from coming from in
Germany in 1829. And 4 sets of great grandparents in front of my nannme And I
am going to be last of by name at 79 years old.
