Hello everyone. On our farm we have a old towmotor
forklift. A few weeks ago we went to get on it and it
wouldnt start. We thought we were just low on
gas(propane) so we swapped the tank out and nothing
so i sprayed a little brake clean in the i take and it tried to
start. So i knew i was having a fueling issue. I took the
carb off and the rear solenoid seemed like it was
completely burnt for some reason. The wires have pretty
much melted off the solenoid.I have searched high and
low for a replacement carb Or diaphragm with no luck. It
says its a J&S 50 series on the carb. Does anyone
happen to know where i could get any kind of parts for
this thing. It stays in our shop and we use it heavily in the
winter because its so small we can maneuver it
around.Thanks for any help

J&S is no more. Were out of Dallas TX. They rebadged some Zenith products. I have gotten some parts from McDonald Carb. Ford 801 LP used carb that has diaphram on it.

have you tryed a local forklift dealer. thats an old one on the fuel system lookd in an old parts calogue may have to update to impco fuel system. good luck

McDonald Carb ill try them. Ive searched all over for places that rebuild crabs from local to nationwide. I know there has got to be someone or someplace out there that has what i need. Ill buy a new carb or send it to someone or buy the parts. Makes me no difference. Would really just like to get this thing going again

Check with your propane supplier. There's an independent supplier here that has the knowledge and materials to work on the older propane systems.

Google "forklift service near me" Amongst the dealers you will probably get an independent or two. Dealers want only to upgrade you to new or late model, while an independent will most likely be someone who used to work for a dealer then went out on his own, and is happy to work on the older less common ones.

Updating it with Impco brand carb and parts would be straight forward. Parts and kits are readily available from most forklift dealers. I have a guy here in Michigan I have dealt with. Email open
