The Rest Of The Video

The internet was in high gear tonight so I was able to upload the final part of yesterday's cattle feeding video in just an hour. Nothing too exciting, just
starting up and driving the old Massey around with a hay bale on the spear. Thought I had some good close ups of the cattle at the bale but the camera had shut
down.

i really enjoy your videos. all i see in the background is the horizon however. how many acres do you work? i've always thought i wanted to live 20 miles from my nearest neighbor. now that i'm 70, i'm not too sure about that anymore haha. my hat is off to you. you look like you have your hands full and you enjoy it.

Thanks, not as far as you might think to the nearest neighbour. A mile in summer and two miles in winter. Used to be a farm family on every section in the early days but farms are bigger with less people now. What I farm now used to be seven different farms but compared to the bigger farmers I'm just a hobby farmer.

Thank you, Rusty. That made my day! I remember the cars from that era so well. I learned to drive in a Model A but we got a '37 next. My uncles had '39 and '40 Fords and then the war came along. Stopped car buying for a while.

You see now why I am partial to flathead Fords having been around them for my entire life. I have photos of this old 39 going all the way back to 1952 when it was my parent's wedding car. It served the same purpose again for my nephew in 2014.

(quoted from post at 08:36:12 12/13/22) are you saying you farm 7 sections? good for you.
No its actually 12 quarters which is 3 sections. Not all open spaces either so I plant less than a thousand acres per year.

The tale of it being a wedding car reminds me of a joke but, unfortunately, I can't tell it here. It would be poofed instantly.

I had one just like that, 2 door black sedan with the sealbeam conversion done on the headlights. looks good for its age, but sounds like it needs a valve job done on it.

The valves are ok, just sticky. Those flatheads tend to get their valves stuck if they are parked too many years. I had spent a lot of time freeing up the valves just to get it running that good. It was still not 100% though. I try to keep the motor well oiled and turn it over by hand frequently.
