Wagon model?

My grandfather always called this the "John Deere running gear". So, I thought it was. But, when I recently pulled it out of the fence row and had it restored, I could not find an identification tag. Additionally, I cannot find a similar John Deere model on the internet. I know my mechanic has painted it green and yellow, but can someone identify the actual make and model? Even if it is not a John Deere? By the way, the tongue is wooden with a metal tip (not shown).

Thank you,

dont think its john deere. john deere has automotive type steering with the tie rods behind the bunk, and can be pulled at hyway speeds.
this on has that junky steering that wonders all over the road at 15 m.p.h. it does have the nice french and hecht wheels though. i have a
massey harris wagon here with that same steering setup. ihc and maclouds also had the same steering set up as yours. plus i have the john deere wagon my dad bought new in early 60's. on that one a wood
tongue might have been for horses. dad had to have the longer wood tongue made for his when the wagon was used for thrashing. still have that
also.

I don't think it's JD either.Too many extra parts and braces and wheel hubs don't have the caps JD used on cage roller bearing hubs. Not IHC either.

I agree with you on the wheels, I think the dead give away is going to be how the flat tie rods adjust, not something you see ever day. too nice to be shop built but we are going to have to do some searching to find the right manfactur of that unit. Sure a nice restoration down to the new tires.

Our early McCormick wagon had those loop topped bolster uprights, and the same wheels. The wheels had Blue Paint on them in places. Roller Bearings. Jim

Look for letters in the cast wheel hubs, may give you a
clue as to the manufacturer. Also patent numbers can
help as well, if you find some just search for them
online.

Here is a photo of the front end of my McCormich Deering.
It is not that similar to your wagon. I had originally thought
the front part of mine was the same as yours.

More clues;

The front end has the number 802 cast in it. I dont
know if thats a model or part number. Also, the spoke
wheels have Nostrain or No Strain cast in the hubs

Let's try this again....

Wheel hubs have Nostrain or No Strain cast into each one.

Front of running gear has 802 cast into a couple of the parts.
