John Deere B Block

(quoted from post at 12:05:41 11/23/22) Are the John Deere B blocks, B 1305R and B 1783R interchangeable?

B1305R fits 60,000 to 95,999.

B1783R fits 96,000-.

The cylinder head and gasket parts numbers changed at 96,000, as well, so the blocks are likely NOT directly interchangeable.

That being said, I changed a block many years ago in a styled ''B'', and it sort of worked, (I recall a difference in the rocker oiling) but that's way too long ago to remember all the details.

Years ago I purchased a 1940 John Deere B, the previous owner could not get it to stop leaking coolant between the block and head! I removed the
head and immediately noticed that the coolant passages didnt match up. The head was for an older unstyled B! I was able to purchase the right head
for it!

Nope. The bores, head stud length/pattern, and other things
are all different. Your tractor needs the 1783 block.
