MF 65 Rock Shaft

I am putting (trying to) the rock shaft back in to the lift cover but it doesnt want to go in. I line up the key between the parts but it wont slide in. If I take the parts out and put on my work bench, it slides in but only half way. Is there a trick or something to get the rock shaft to slide in and all the way through the cover? Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

Did you by chance install new bushings? Often new bushings need reamed or honed to fit a shaft. If that is not it you may have to figure out how to post a picture of what is giving the problem. Get a picture in your PC or phone, then when you reply go down to the ..Choose files.. button down low on the reply page and pick the photo you want to show.
 
If I recall the shaft will only slide from one side, not both. I put the two bushings and O ring in place over the shaft ends AFTER the shaft is in place. The bushings don't fit tight in the cover, and don't need reamed for the shaft.

If from the left side. I will try to slide it in from the other direction. I will put the bushings and o ring on after I get the shaft in..
