He ruined an expensive collectible VW bus, and put the cab on a $400.00 tractor. It was, his VW and he do anything he wanted. I will admit it is rather unique. I should talk. I ruined a VW bus, by making a dune buggy out of one. The VW cars made better ones. Stan

Love it ! I have had about 12 VW vans. 2 where 12 window jobs. I repaired them and sold them to 'hippies' and their ilk. Man, ! I would love to have the one I drove to Mexico in 1965. It was perfect. 2020 hindsight.

Brane flash ! ! During that time , I got to do a tune up on a 1954 slab side that an elderly German man brought into our shop from Germany. It was a gem (this is a true story). He came to pick it up but was unable to pay the $37 bill. I said, take it away and pay when you can. Three months later, the van showed up with a guy. He said that the old gent had passed and left instructions for the van to be transferred to me. Flabbergasted !. I kept it for a shop truck for a while then some smart guy offered me too much $ to turn down. Thing is still out there in original shape - worth gillions.

I'll see your collectible bus and raise you one rare single-cab transporter.

However, most likely when this cab was put on this tractor, the tractor was worth far more than $400, and there was zero interest in collecting VWs. The single-cab was headed to the scrapyard, and the owner of the tractor said, "Why not?"
