MC scythe update: pto shaft found

I went back to the auction today to get another item and someone set the pto shaft for it there. (I bought it with it missing). The u-joint is tight but I have it soaking in diesel and hopefully can hammer it loose. It is 1000 rpm and thanks to the guy that linked Manuel it matches what Manuel shows.

Soaking in fuel may help if it can get past the seals. Forcing grease in if it has a fitting may be better. If no fitting I would take it apart, clean, inspect, and if in OK condition pack with grease and put together.

It was kinda like de ja vu. A month ago or
so I bought a John Deere wire baler from
auction and the whole pto shaft slid out
on road and I found it in the ditch a few
days later.

It took everything I could do with a big maul just to get it to move a little but I got it straight so not sure how long it will last. I think I will take grease zirt out and spray penetrating oil in it.
