Case 430 hand clutch adjustment

Looking for advice here.

I am working on a 62-63 (I think) Case 430. Diesel,Triple range, with Eagle hitch and case power steering. No serial number tag so year is a guess based on research I have done.

It has a brand new throw out bearing, pressure plate and ceramic clutch disc. Tractor slips in higher gears on flat ground with no load. I am trying to figure out how to check/adjust the hand clutch. I can see it cam over with the range cover removed, but it feels like it slips.

Does anyone know the spec and procedure to check/adjust the hand clutch?

To do a quick check, the hand clutch should
take 40 lbs of pull to engage it. If you
find it needs adjustment repost on Case
forum for instuctions. It is possible that
the new clutch pressure plate was not
adjusted correctly and is not tight enough
on the clutch plate.

there is a knob that u need to pull out after you remove the inspection cover. there is also a special wrench for adjusting the clutch. bit
its not necessary. get in there with a pounch and tighten the adjustment about 2 notches. then make sure the pin falls back in its locking
hole.you need about 75 lbs push on the clutch handle and should feel a definite snap in. if your just pulling as in disengaging with no
resistance and engaging it , thats the problem.

Ok this one has two pins. I pulled both pins back and rotated the "pressure plate" 2 notches clockwise when viewed from the rear of the machine. I can only get one pin at a time to drop back into the hole. The tension on the handle feels much better but I don t want to run it with only one locking pin in place.
