I replaced the start with a used one.
I shut the gas off using a manual shutoff until I got a solenoid.
The manual shutoff failed to work properly an the cylinder was full of gas again.
Replaced gas hose. Remove the manual shutoff, charged the battery and all is good.
Neighbor is happy.
I didn't charge him a penny.
Cost him about $25 for parts.
If you don't remember my original post, neighbor thought he had a dead battery when the carb float float didn't stop the gas from flooding the cylinder and crankcase with gas.
Neighbor fried the starter because motor was locked up.
