good evening gentlemen, i am looking for recommendations for a tiller for my tractor (JD 3025E). I want something durable but not overly expensive i had a friend of mine come out this spring an till my garden for me and the tiller he had on his tractor was red, i really liked it but i cant remember what the name was on the side of it.

Mine is a Terre Force. I purchased from a Kubota dealership although Im not sure its manufactured by Kubota even though its orange in color. Im in my 6th year with it and I till 1/2 acre twice a year. Which really isnt much tilling for this implement. And yes I make a point to keep my equipment clean and covered. Im told something the military instills in some people. Oh well. Wingnut

I have a 58 inch LandPride, that came off Clist. It was barely used but suffered from the salt air of the coast. I've used it on my old Massey Harris, a 29hp tractor without live PTO. It works a lot better on my BIL's hydrostatic Kubota. The nice thing about it is you can adjust the gearbox to slide the tiller to the side, to cover one of the rear tire lines.

I currently have a 7 ft. Brush Hog and a 4 ft. King Cutter. I had a 66 inch First Choice. They have all been good tillers. Although I have seen all 3 of them with a different brand label on them and painted a different color. I think there is actually just a couple different manufactures which all sell to more than one brand.

I've had good service out of two King Kutter tillers, they are gear drive not chain drive like most. Also the tines, diggers or whatever they are called come out and turn at a 90 degree so they still til good until completely worn out.

I have a JD tiller. Not cheap but very reliable. Bought it used, Into my third year with it. Very happy with it. Look at the link below.

I wanted a tiller for my small garden.
I don't have a tractor with a hydrostatic tranny.
I looked for a long time before I found this JD270 garden tractor.

It came with a 30 inch tiller and 48 inch mower deck.
A 17 hp Kawasaki.
The guy that I bought it from put new rear tires on it.
New mower blades, battery and tiller tines.
He sold it to me for $1500 claiming that's what he put into it.

I discovered the tiller didn't work very well.
Whoever put the new tines on it, put them on backwards.
The tiller tines go in the opposite direction as the tractor tires.

My neighbor would till my garden with his Massey. It has a 5 ft tiller.
My JD tiller does a better job vs the Massey.

If you can't find a good tiller, look for an old garden tractor with a tiller. Wheelhorse was a good garden tractor that had tillers.

I'm very happy with my purchase.

I bought a second JD to put the mower deck on.
I leave the tiller on the JD270.

I have a kioti branded tiller, I have been using it for several years, no complaints with it. I did buy it new, used tillers are hard to find around here, NE Ohio and the couple I looked at were pretty clapped out. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I have a 48 Taylor Pittsburgh and run it behind my Kubota 1880, It has an oil bath gear box and a slip clutch PTO. it does a fine job and I believe the price new was under $1800 I am very happy with it.

When we were looking for a tiller for food plots, I talked to several dealers. The salesmen all told me to look at TS King Kutter. They said the brand name ones are way overpriced. Just make sure to get a gear drive and use corn head grease in it and keep all the bolts tight. If your tractor doesn't have creeper gear you may not be happy. If your soil has any clay and stone you have to go very slow. We bottom plow, let it sit all summer and then till just before we plant. Only go over the ground twice that way.

(quoted from post at 15:21:37 09/25/22) good evening gentlemen, i am looking for recommendations for a tiller for my tractor (JD 3025E). Land Pride is now owned by Kubota and primarily made in the Midwest. They should have a decent USA made product with parts availability. I haven't seen a new Howard in a very long time. The problem with a tiller is the shock load it imparts to your tractor. Doesn't sound like you will be putting enough hours on it to matter, but I'd rip the garden before tilling to lessen the shock to your hydro.

Do some of the three point hitch tillers have the counter rotating feature?

I always wondered if they did better than the normal tillers.

I have a Counter Rotating walk behind tiller and it works better sometimes and not others.
