I have a hesston 6450 swather with a 6465
auger head. I am getting a loud growling
sound while cutting with it. Intermittent
can be in light hay or heavy may cut 2
passes no noise or every 40 feet growls
away. If you pull it in reverse and take
the load off it stops. I have a sprocket
for the top roller for the crimper that
is worn and is shiny below the teeth from
the chain riding deep in it. Ordered one
to replace it. Could that be the noise I
am getting? I don't see any other new
shiny metal from parts wearing and all
bearings seem to be good. Just wanting
other suggestions to look for if someone
else has dealt with similar issue.
Thanks.
