Tractor show

Are there any shows around Texas. That a person in a wheelchair
could go to. I know they would not be easy. But some with level
ground.

The big state show is in Temple next Saturday, October 1. It isn't perfectly flat, but I certainly don't recall any real hills. I have no idea about rentals, but one can use one's own side by side although there is a Utility Vehicle Permit ($15) required. Hope you can make it. kelly

Billy, you might contact the organizers of the Texas Early Days show in Temple. They might offer transportation around the site for mobility impaired visitors. They are very well organized. The show is next Saturday. I plan to be there with at least 1 tractor but I don't have a cart. The site is pretty flat but it might be tough going in a wheelchair.

Thanks to all. I can handle some land. But the really bad I just say forget it. I am about 100 miles from Temple. So I will give them a call.

Billy I should hope there would be someone willing to assist you. Other veterans or just generous people. There was a young man in a wheelchair from MS in our small town. A group of friends and since I was older and a designated driver that took him many places, concerts ect ect. From that experience I know how difficult it can be. At that time his wheelchair didn't fit through bathroom doors, some places had no access for seating so we carried him up the steps to sit on the walkways. Good luck I hope everything works out for you.

The few shows I go to they have accommodations for handicap such as cart rentals and parking . Also have wagon shuttles they pull around the grounds with tractors. You can also bring your own cart to get around.

I like going to our local Covered bridge festival.
No idea why they stopped renting electric wheelchairs.
There is a big difference in price between Electric ATV wheelchairs and indoor electric wheelchairs..

I was told that Insurance companies will only pay for indoor wheelchairs and it's getting harder to get insurance companies to pay for wheelchairs..

I don't walk very far either before my back and hips cramp up so this is my version of a wheelchair. Got the little tractor out of a junk yard in about 1980, laid in the corner of my shed for thirty years before I got after it.

If I remember right you are from Centerville, am I correct? I live over close to Crockett in the small town of Lovelady. I don't know if you care for tractor pulls but there is one in Bremond twice a year. I go to it occasionally and it is not too far from Centerville. You can drive right up to the track, pull up a chair and see everything. It's a small pull compared to most but it is fun to watch. I don't remember the dates, I just look up Bremond tractor pull on the internet. I have also been to Temple, is well worth the trip and you will enjoy it.
