Oil bath air cleaner mesh

My MF 202 workbull (industrial Massey 35) oil bath air cleaner has a bunch of junk in the mesh above the oil pan. What can I replace this mesh with?

Unless its rusty or damaged, you dont need to
replace it at all. Remove the media unwind it and
wash it with soapy water. If its packed with steel
wool and not wound, you can still remove it from the
can and wash it ... but if it wont come clean to your
satisfaction, you might try finding a similar sized IH
housing with wound media, and trim it to fit, if
necessary.

Steiner does carry the mesh. part number ABC422 $13,95 a bag, will take 2 bags. I have bought the same stuff for my WC Allis Chalmers. My air cleaner takes 3 of the donuts, and there are 2 in a bag....It is basically stainless steel wool wrapped into big donuts....

We used to run the corn sheller with the AC WD. When servicing the air cleaner we found some bees wings in the mesh and decided
to get it out of there. That was a mistake. Had a heck of a job getting it stuffed back in there, and I'm sure it was not as
evenly installed as it was originally.

If it's like the Ferguson canister I took apart, it was quite a job. Best I
remember I had to cut the thing apart, been several years ago.

If I could get a do-over, I would have tried soaking it in full strength Purple
Power, washing and blowing it out repeatedly.

Yours may be made different, if it comes apart, take it apart, but if it's not
designed to, give it your best effort before taking it apart.

You can buy the mesh on this site.

My TO35 was run with the oil bath cup dry by the previous owner. When I opened it up and unrolled it,
there was so much weed debris I decided to replace the packing. Otherwise I would have tried to clean
it.

If the oil is changed i don't think it needs cleaning though I've never looked in ours. Niether the H or the MD. Both run fine and never had a problem with them. I would wash them out for a first try.

fill it full of vinegar and then rain and blow clean you will be good to go
no big deal if the mesh is dirty just have clean oil in the cup

If it can't be removed for cleaning, or replaced, in the past(if it is plant materials or oil soaked dirt) I have used a propane torch to
burn out pea vines. You just need to be careful not to get the torch too close and melt the wire mesh.

Vinegar and rain ? Do you just set it outside in a thunder storm or what? Also what does the vinegar do mixed with the oil that is inside(make salad dressing? i know about using vinegar for cleaning rust in radiators and rust from rusty metal, but never to remove oil.I would just shake it up and down in a bucket with some diesel, solvent or cleaner like simple green or greased lighting and rinse with water hose then blow dry with compressed air.

MF65 .......I just finished taking mine apart and unwraping , cleaning with solvent and air pressure. Second or third time; cut weld to remove and used JB weld when reinstalling.

Or buy from this site, cheap $13. Good air supply is necessary to get designed hp from diesel.
