Is that a stump grinder or a brush cutter?

I'm too cheap to pay for stump removal.
I just finished about 15 stump covers and planted
flower over the stumps..
A stump cover is dirt..
It takes about 15 years for the dirt to compost a stump..

You don't know how many times I wish I had a stump grinder.
My cheap bone hurts just thinking of removing money from my wallet to buy a stump grinder..
 
Not a John Deer unit.. Lane Shark hydraulic cutter. Sold buy any brand tractor dealer. Our insurance carrier strongly advise us not to sell them, too many instances of someone getting hurt. It is basically a mid weight bushhog type cutter mounted on your loader frame. Folks using them down in the low position no problem but when you get up and it starts sling chunks and limbs things get bad in a hurray.
 
That is just a regular JD front loader with the 3rd. remote option up front. The Lane Shark hooks up to the loader and the hyd. lines up front. Good videos on Youtube showing it in action.
 
george, drill a bunch of holes in the stump with a good size paddle bit and pour buttermilk in each hole. regular buttermilk, not the diet stuff. it accelerates decomposition of the stump and it rots away in a couple years.
 
When you have many stumps too close together to mow and too big for the little terramite to dig, I find it easier to cover all them with dirt and have a raised flower bed.
I always have a pile of dirt and gas for terramite isn't that expensive.

A stump grinder will leave behind a lot of wood underground.
I've had stumps ground before and 15 to 20 years later I'm adding dirt to a sink hole in the yard..

I'll use stomp covers and wait for mother nature to compost the stump. On occasions after the stump has composted, I've removed the stump cover and moved flowers to another stump cover..
