Canadian Tractor Cabs

Looking for information on the Fibro Tractor cabs made in Canada. I bought a 1964 Wheat-Belt catalog, but they only show Full-Vision Cabs.

I have one on a 1961 IH 660.

Thanks,

The cab with the fibreglass top. Fibro cabs were very popular here. Built in Regina just an hour and a half away. My brother has a Fibro on his 830. They were cheap, dusty and noisy but in certain conditions they were very much appreciated. I might have some advertising brochures on them.

We had a Fibro cab on our 431 Cockshutt combine back in the early 1970's. Nothing fancy but it kept the cold winds and dust off the driver.

Thanks guys- Do you know if the white (top) part was intended to come off in the summer? Do you know how long the company was in
business?

I have never heard of anybody removing the fibreglass top. I don't know how long the company was in business. They also made front end loaders. Your cab and tractor look pretty good.

No I don't think they were designed with removing the roof in mind. I seem to recall the roof was pop-riveted to the rest of the cab structure. I don't know when the company started up, probably in The 1960's. They had built a new factory in northeast Regina in the early 1970's but I think they got into financial difficulty and went out of business in the late 70's. Their building was taken over by the provincial government's crown auto insurance company, SGI, and was used to dismantle and sell auto parts from totaled cars and trucks. In the early 80's I bought a salvage truck box there for my GMC half ton. Probably part of the reason for the demise of these cab companies was tractor manufacturers started selling their own much better-appointed cabs.
