First off thanks to KCM and Majorman for keeping us in great pictures everyday!! It's one of the first things I check out every morning as soon as I get a chance. I have been wanting to post this for a while but didn't want to steal KCM's thunder. These used to be be quite common around my area as they were manufactured by a local company. PS, I don't know how to add the puzzle! :):)

When I was a kid growing up in the 1950s, all the cribs were built to slide a conveyor under the corn. Remove a few boards at a time for the corn to fall into the conveyor. Then the corn headed to the sheller. .

Yep. Use the corn hook to lift the board. It falls in the drag line and the guy shoveling closest to door picks it up and throws it out.

We always put a row of corn tunnels down the middle before filling it. Then you could slide the sheller drag in and empty it out by pulling each section of tunnel out as you worked from one end of the crib to the other. Each section of tunnel was about 2 foot long. My grandfather bought this one back in the 50s sometime. Worked good for the wetter corn as it is narrower than a round crib, which were popular in my area back then. So we always put the 1st corn picked in it.
