I.H,350 Uility tractor

Last week I was doing a cleanup job on a person property. They had some equipment just in the back. They owner was cleaning out stuff and wanting it to be gone. So, he looked at me and told me to haul away an International Harvester 350 Uility. the craziest thing is that people paint tractors green. So, I am hunting for tags and cleaning them up without trying to tear things up. the Serial number I think I found the tag. It has a S on it. Does this mean anything for the make or the model. Like always why people have to paint tractors with a paint brush.

I had to go to a different computer to get the pictures. My first Free tractor I ever got

The parts list starts out reading battery cables, carburetor, and ignition switch. This is what we have found so far. the spark plug wires are matching the paint job. which tells me I might need to look at plugs and spark plugs. The dip stick on the oil looks okay, well you know it has been used. Like I said it another project for this place. I wonder what type of Carburetor can be use. I got an extra one for the Farmall M. I wonder could that one work for this engine to.

Is the engine free? Probably doubtful if they relied on that slant cut pipe to keep out the rain. The ..S.. is for Torque Amplifier.. see link. Did you get the hoods? I do not see them on your parts list. The link is in the CNHI online parts book. Should be able to navigate to all the parts sections for it from there.

S= equipped with a T/A and parts to use a independent PTO. M carburetor will bolt on and run but maybe not the best. M 27 venturi, 300, 350- 25 venturi and some different fuel metering. M has choke on different side is only difference in fit. If I remember my numbers correctly the 300 used carburetor number 361525R1 and R2 and 350 R2 gasoline carburetors. R1 only used on early 300 engines.

I have a trick to clean the Serial number tag. Tape the tag with freezer tape and put brake fluid on the tape, let it set for a day or two and the brake fluid will lift the paint and the stamped numbers will look like new.

Are we talking about the right and left side plus the center part of the hood. Yes, I did get those and have them all. This is what I got so far off the tractor. Serial I think is 9814, letter is S, Engine block reads C-175, serial found two of them and puzzled which one is good. 361552 R1 Or 14413. back tires are 13.6-28, Front tires 6.50-16. Know I have said all that what is a Motorola. Which looks like a ignition box. I wonder is this a converter system from 6 to 12 volts.

Thank you: I might just try the Farmall M carb just because I need to know if it runs. Today I spent time in cleaning the tractor up. I have found aa serial number plate, but it is so scratched up it is hard
to determine the serial numbers. Serial number is 9814 that is stamp in on the plate. letter found is S. the engine serial numbers are two found. One is 361552R1 I would say questionable. the other set is
found as 14413. Casting on engine is C-175. Front tires 6.50-16, Rear tires 13.6-28. what is interesting I found a Motorola looks like an ignition box? Model 8RH2004A I am thinking that this is for converting
the 6-volt system to the 12-volt system. I will go and look feather to see what it is.

The Motorola box is an external regulator for the alternator, most 350s were 12 volt but positive ground with a Delco generator. So it has been converted to negative ground to accommodate the alternator. Would be worthwhile to check the coil polarity to make sure it is negative ground as well.

Believe it or not the engine is free. I hooked up the battery to it today and hit the starter and it cranked over with no problem. the engine is not stuck.
