On an 18.4-30 tube the stem has come apart from the tube on one side. I have a couple options 1 put a new stem on the old tube other is the 85.00 for a new tube. this is going in a used tire may or may not put the chloride back in. IF I glue a new stem on I would probably not reload tire if I put a new tube in then I most likely will reload the tire to get rid of the chloride setting around. Just asking what is thought of the glue on stems. I have used them on other jobs like a grain cart tire tube or other non loaded tire applications.

A friend of mine who owns a industrial tire shop repairs tubes with the glue on stems all the time, if done correctly they will hold up to being reloaded. These days even new tubes will have the glued on valve stems.

If you don't use it in the tube, chloride is a great weed killer! Can't help with the tube.

WE used to replace stems all of the time, having said that, tubes with fluid are hard to get clean enough to hold the new stem. Wash it with lots of soap and water before buffing .
