Mower deck question

I have a dumb question. I am replacing the blades on my Arts way belly mower. It has 3 blades. Is there any reason to aline the blades in any certain configuration. Like middle one 12- 6 and outside ones 3-9. Or all in the same position or does it even matter?

That is not a dumb question at all. I often wonder that when I put the 3 blades back on my lawn mower. I end up just putting them on any direction.

No way to time and stay in time with a common v belt. Would have to have a clogged belt or chain to stay timed. Or gears and shafts.

If all of the blades are driven and connected together using belts, then no need to align them 90-degrees off. The blades will slip when hitting extra thick grass, a mound of dirt, a rock, etc. The belts will slip, and then your blades are no longer hoe you left them. Now imagine that happening 200 times per mowing session.

Only think you need to do is to make certain the installed blades do not overlap each other. If they do, then you were sold the wrong blades.
