yellow foxtail

looks like my hay field has some yellow foxtail in it, will cattle eat it and will 24d get read of it?

Yes they will likely eat it. No, 2,4-D is a broadleaf herbicide, so little to no effect on grass.

Cows will eat it just fine but horse people say the seed can get in the horses gums and cause problems. ( never had a problem with my 4 eating it)

Fusion, or select, chemicals, now that it's headed out, there's no reason to spend your money. It's on the down slope with seeds.

Back in the super wet years of the 90s, had several patches of unplanted ground, came up in foxtail. Was so wet we didnt get much straw, so dad had me bale the ripe foxtail one fall for straw.

Cattle wouldnt lay in it, they ate it up before they got to laying down........ left some of their hay, preferred their foxtail.

I don't think you want spray a grass hayfield with either one of those herbicides.
