I ran into a tree branch and put a hole in my radiator just a small one crimped it in order to get back to the barn what is the best way these days to fix this? I see new replacements don't receive much love these days! Re core the best or solder it and move on?

If you can get to it and know how to solder well that is the best way. But that said I have had good luck with Bars leak copper on small holes in a radiator

If it's on and older tractor the radar is probably corroded inside anyways. I am fortunate because we have a good radiator shop in my town. I've taken four or five in and just had them re-cored. Not cheap but it fits when I put it back in and last for years unlike the cheap new replacement radiators for old tractors.

If you can't solder the tubes shut at the damage, pull the ends of the damaged tubes out of the tanks and solder shut the resulting tank holes.

No need to remove the remainder of the damaged tubes.

Thinking about it somemore I think I will take it to the shop. I would like to replace the filler neck anyways.

Well you did that one thing a lot of posters do, kept a
secret of the model and brand. Sounds like you made a
decision anyway. It is probably the right choice it the
radiator had no previous leaks a good shop can fix it
up well for many more years of service.

My Farmall A has a decent hole in 1 tube. It has had JB Weld in it for 15 years with no leaks.
